Der Chef ist Gastwirt, Koch und Kellner in Personalunion, was bei großem Gastaufkommen zu Wartezeiten führen kann. Die Speisekarte bietet Nudeliges (auch Kärntner Kasnudeln), Toasts, Grillgerichte, und Pizzen sowie Spezialitäten (z.B. Ripperl!) gegen Vorbestellung. Ich entschied mich für den Grillteller. Die Portion war groß, das Grillgut und die Pommes leider sehr (für mich fast zu) hell geraten, wahrscheinlich weil der Chef ziemlich unter Strom war; dem Geschmack tat's keinen Abbruch. Fazit: gute Küche, ansprechende Portionen, empfehlenswert! Report of March 2015: Nice, down-to-earth restaurant on the high place. The boss is an innkeeper, cook and waiter in personal union, which can lead to waiting times for large numbers of visitors. The menu offers noodles (also Kärntner Kasnudeln), toasts, grill dishes, and pizzas as well as specialties (for example Ripperl!) Against reservation. I chose the grill plate. The portion was large, the grilled food and fries unfortunately very (for me almost too) bright, probably because the boss was quite under power; the taste did not detract. Conclusion: good food, attractive portions, recommended!

Die Abgase aus der Küche (Gebratenes) sind klar und deutlich in der Gaststube wahrnehmbar. Die Kärntner Nudeln mit grünem Salat waren frisch und gut. Der Inhaber selber ist sehr darauf bedacht, regionale und frische Produkte zu verwenden und nachhaltig und saisonal zu kochen. Speziell seine Steaks sind sehr schmackhaft und wahnsinnig zart. Daher 5 Sterne und empfehlenswert! I have been a permanent guest at the Staudacher for years and can only confirm that it is the best home-style cuisine in Wolfsberg. The owner himself is very careful to use regional and fresh products and to cook sustainably and seasonally. His steaks in particular are very tasty and incredibly tender. Therefore 5 stars and recommendable!

Siamo arrivati alle 13.00 e avevano già finito il menù del giorno (scritto fuori dalla porta, quindi può essere che le foto che si vedono sono di giorni differenti). Ci ha aiutati a capire il menù che era rimasto una signora traducendo dal tedesco all'inglese. Purtroppo non abbiamo capito molto in quanto non parliamo bene l'inglese e abbiamo mangiato un piatto dolce e una zuppa, ma non c'era alternativa. La signora è stata gentile con noi. We stopped here based on reviews, unfortunately the expectation was not met. We arrived at 1pm and they had already finished the menu of the day (written outside the door, so it may be that the photos you see are from different days). She helped us understand the menu which was left by a lady translating from German to English. Unfortunately we didn't understand much as we don't speak English well and we ate a sweet dish and a soup, but there was no alternative. The lady was nice to us.
