★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice place to visit in Salzburg. Residence is located just behind the Cathedral. The day we visited this spot, there was live music and a biergarten. Quite good!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Residenzplatz is a large, stately public square in the old town of Salzburg and also the largest square in the old town.
There's some really beautiful buildings surrounding the square such as Residenzgalerie Residenz Palace, the Glockenspiel and Salzburg Cathedral. At the centre of the square is the Residenz Fountain.
Plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes around the square as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If Christmas was a city it would be here. A truly wonderful place to get into the festive spirit and feel like a child once again. Gingerbread, Gluwein and Pancakes are a must, eaten and drunk under dazzling Christmas lights. Whilst the almost ever present rain dampened spirits slightly, the surrounding displays and beakers of Gluwein keep you warm.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sadly I had too high expectations for this Platz, because when I visited it one week ago, all the fountains and the statues were covered, and the view was not so appealing. The place itself it's okay, but the Cathedral is absolutely stunning. On the other hand, you can find a lot of high fashion shops in this Platz, both for clothes and accessories.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Residenzplatz square is an magnificent forecourt in the heart of Salzburg. Richly decorated baroque fountain is larger and most beautiful. Build by an Italian architect Vincenzo Scamozxi.
