I wanted to pay my drink, so once the waitress got to our table, I asked to pay by card. This was already met with resistance and the waitress mumbled something about me not paying cash. Asking politely if I could perhaps pay cash was not an option I guess. It's 2022, so paying with card isn't that crazy right?
She went behind the bar to fetch the payment terminal. Instead of making her walk back to our table, I followed her there to save her some time, even though it wasn't busy at all.
While she was readying the machine, she had her back turned to me, apparently unaware I was already waiting at the bar. She then went on to complain to her colleague about the fact I wanted to pay just one drink with my card, instead of cash.
Next time you want to vent about your guests, make sure they are not right behind you. I might be an 'ausländer', but I understand German more than fine...
Whether I pay cash or card should be irrelevant. I'm giving you the same amount of money regardless of the form of payment. Your displeasure in me wanting to pay by card gives you absolutely no reason to be rude.
