Man hätte telefonisch „Kulanz“ angeboten (unglaublich) aber die genannte Person war persönlich nicht anzutreffen und sonst wusste niemand etwas davon.

One would have offered "goodwill" over the phone (unbelievable) but the named person could not be found personally and no one else knew anything about it.
