in der 2. Hälfte des 11. Jahrhunderts zum
ersten Mal genannt.
Gesichert nachweisbar ist eine Übergabe der
Pfarre an das Stift Altenburg im Jahre 1350.
Die Pfarrkirche zu den Apostelfürsten Petrus und Paulus ist ein im Kern romanischer Bau mit einem gotischen Chor und einer bis heute erhaltenen gotischen Sakramentsnische.
Das Gotteshaus bildet mit dem Friedhof,
dem Pfarrhof und den ehemaligen Wirtschaftsgebäuden einen malerischen
Komplex außerhalb der Ortschaft.
