Dieses Haus hat eine geistreiche Geschichte. Schon Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts verkehrten hier Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart und seine Schwester Nannerl. Damals hieß das Haus Hermesvilla, nach der Besitzerin Anna Helene Hermes von Fürstenhof. Stefan Zweig - der Schriftsteller - besaß und bewohnte die Villa in der Zeit zwischen den zwei Weltkriegen. Er machte das Haus zu einem Ort der kulturellen Begegnung, internationale Künstler, Schriftsteller und Musiker waren seine illustren Gäste. Als „Villa (in) Europa“ wurde das Haus deshalb gerne bezeichnet. Das Haus wurde 1937 von der Salzburger Familie Gollhofer gekauft, als die Familie Zweig vor den herannahenden Nationalsozialisten flüchten musste. Der Name Paschinger Schlössl geht auf den Besitzer um 1800, Anton Paschinger, zurück. Das Schlössl steht unter Denkmalschutz und gehört zum UNESCO-Welterbe „Historisches Zentrum der Stadt Salzburg“. Es ist nicht öffentlich zugänglich.

This house has a witty history. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and his sister Nannerl used to frequent this place as early as the end of the 18th century. At that time the house was called Hermesvilla, after the owner Anna Helene Hermes von Fürstenhof. Stefan Zweig - the writer - owned and lived in the villa between the two world wars. He made the house a place of cultural encounters; international artists, writers and musicians were his illustrious guests. The house was therefore often referred to as a “villa (in) Europe”. The house was bought by the Gollhofer family from Salzburg in 1937 when the Zweig family had to flee from the approaching National Socialists. The name Paschinger Schlössl goes back to the owner around 1800, Anton Paschinger. The Schlössl is a listed building and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage "Historic Center of the City of Salzburg". It is not open to the public.
