Der Eigentümer lebt mit ganzem Herzen und persönlichen Einsatz seine Vision, das Kulturgut und die Geschichte des Tales und seiner Vorfahren einerseits zu teilen aber auch für zukünftige Generationen zu bewahren. Insbesondere finde ich es sehr spannend, das die alten Maschinen wieder restauriert und in Betrieb genommen wurden.
Hingehen, Zeit nehmen und die Führung genießen.
 The museum is highly recommended. The owner lives with his heart and personal commitment his vision to share the cultural heritage and the history of the valley and its ancestors on the one hand, but also to preserve it for future generations. In particular, I find it very exciting that the old machines have been restored and put into operation.
Go in, take time and enjoy the guidance.

Parking is a bit far and costly for a short visit at the museum

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What people from the Ötztal from earlier times - who were above all a peasant - have left us, we meet in the Ötztaler home and open-air museum in Lehn near Längenfeld.
One of the few still largely preserved town centers in the Ötztal, the modest living conditions and the old peasant work estate make clear the social change in the Ötztal. The originally familiar decreases. What is just a memory of one's own youth is alien to the other. The museum is part of the visible rural culture of the valley.
The fact that the museum lives - the flax is cultivated and processed, the mill grinds, boards are cut in the saw, the store stores - the traces from yesterday to today are understandable and viewable and experiences can be conveyed.
And last but not least, our museum gives an insight into a world of human dimension - full of imperturbable modesty and almost provoked wealth of ideas.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fascinating insight into how locals used to live and how they produced flax and linen. Don’t want to give too much away but you get live demonstrations and let's just say they use an original power source. The owner is clearly passionate about preserving this local craft
