★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Come here to take a hike and breathe some fresh air. Its less than a 10min walk from U4 Huttledorf terminus station which is in turn 20 mins away from Karlsplatz. You need to watch the time as these and other gates might be closed earlier than you expect. It was 5pm in late October
the views are at times magnificent. In my case it was the last warm sunday in October.
There are several springs on the way with tasty water to quench your thirst.
It took me 2hours and about 11km to make a half loop thru the hills and leave the area at Lainzer Tor where you can take a bus to Hietzing station to get back to the city center. I actually walked on 2more km from Lainzer to catch tram 62 and arrive at Opera in 40mins tired but happy.
