The road isn't maintained as it should be.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you're skiing Nassfeld and want a nice quiet lunch, why not ski to Italy? From the top gondola station ski down direction Nassfeld (townsite) staying mostly right on the runs until you come to the Poma (button, platter) lift just before the bottom. Take the Poma on your right to the top of the slope and you're in Italy if you ski down the other side. Leave your skis at the bottom (split them up for security) and walk 7 minutes down the road to the Wulfenia da Livio restaurant on the Pamollo pass on the other side of the lake. Enjoy an Italian specialty at reasonable prices before walking back, taking the Poma lift back up, and then the Trögl 6 place chair that returns you to the top of the gondola. Reservations not needed.
