It's a history Museum with a wider range of information which offers a quite impressive overview also of the political development of Austria in the last centuries, truly bound with its military successes during the rise until today's neutrality status, after loosing twice last century world wars. Interesting and a must see only if history suits your expectations. If not, it is also a little bit sad...

Museum is very much worth the visit. 7 EUR regular ticket price compared to some other museums in Vienna, not that expensive. However, the museum could be even better. There are things that can be improved. Wast majority of items exhibited have German only text description. This significantly reduces understanding of what is exhibited for anyone who doesn't speak German. Thus somewhat ruins overall impression of the museum.

Went with a lot of expectations but overall experience was a tad bit boring. Every description is in German which was a turn off. You can rent an audio guide for 10 Euros (which you can get back upon returning the guide) but still.

While walking thru all the history of wars you can only realize -- never, I would want never to be the part of this history. The reality sometimes will dictace the opposite. I would like to keep this only history. The presentation on this place is great, just like you dive into history itself. The ammunition, stuff and explanation of situation is presented in nice way. Highly recommended.

An excellent museum outside Vienna city centre Close to Belvedere A lot to take in so plan a good bit of time World War 1&2 covered on the ground floor - so I would suggest doing them first €7 - well worth the fee

My wife and I had a great time in this museum which is a great place to lose yourself back in time. There is a vast amount of military history dating back as from the 1800s to beyond WWII. You will need a minimum of 3 hours to view this marble which is highly recommended.

vast collection of military history ranging from the sixteenth century until WWII. the building is gorgeous, the exhibits in chronological order, the admission fee fair (€8 and free for everyone underage) and the exhibition information is available in multiple languages. it is a military museum, so I wouldn't consider it appropriate to bring your toddlers, but your school kids will have lots to look at. the museum could use some digital updates for a more interactive exhibition of the twenty-first century and some newer exhibits in general, but it's two hours well spent and sheds light on the world of war in an accurate historic setting without any glorification.

I'm not a big fan of history, yeah yeah. But this museum is really amazing. Everybody can find something interesting. It's inexpensive too. It was quiet and not crowded at all. Unbelievable lots of statues in imperial architecture. There's a little cafe inside, where you can have a drink or some food. Bookstore too.
