Für Schüler eigentlich ein Pflichtbesuch! One of those museums that you should definitely visit !! Touching, more than thought-provoking, to activated historical remains in the immediate vicinity. For students actually a must visit!
A	Arnold Lengauer on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Die Arbeitslosen von Marienthal Ohne dieser berühmten Studie von Marie Jahoda, Paul Felix Lazarsfeld und Hans Zeisel aus 1933 wären Marienthal und seine ehemaligen Bewohner wohl in Vergessenheit geraten. So aber wurden die ehemaligen Arbeiterwohnhäuser renoviert und sind heute ein sehenswertes und lebendiges Beispiel einer Werkssiedlung. Weiters hat man - und das ist ein besonderer Verdienst der Initiatoren - das ehemalige Consum-Gebäude nach den alten Plänen wieder aufgebaut und heute befindet sich dort das Marienthal-Museum. Dieses kann täglich zwischen 8 und 18 Uhr kostenlos besucht werden, der Zugang wird mittels Bankkarte, Kreditkarte oder e-card freigegeben. Eine kleine Spende hilft den Betreibern, den Bestand des Museums zu sichern ... Die Ausstellung dokumentiert anschaulich das Leben im Ort sowie die Entstehung, die Hochblüte und den Niedergang samt der Zeit danach der Textilfabrik im Ort. Das Schicksal der Arbeiter und deren Familien steht natürlich im Zentrum der Dokumentation. A small donation helps the operators to secure the museum's existence ... The exhibition vividly documents life in the village as well as the development, heyday and decline including the time after the textile factory in the village. The fate of the workers and their families is of course at the center of the documentation.

Die Spendenbox lud dazu ein, die geleistete Arbeit zu honorieren. 20FEB21 Very informative and lovingly designed. Small but nice. I loved the access control by card. The donation box invited people to honor their work.

Eintritt ist frei. Museum ist über Bankomartkarte (ohne Bezahlung) zu öffnen, da nicht personell besetzt. Interesting little museum about the workers from Marienthal and the famous study on the consequences of mass unemployment in the late 1920s. Free entry. The museum can be opened with a debit card (without payment) as it is not staffed.
