In the middle of the southern square cloister courtyard is a baroque fountain house from 1728. It consists of a cistern with stone surround and wrought-iron supports for the roof, which is in the form of a tin bell hood.

The Diocesan Museum is an oasis in the cultural desert of St. Pölten! The focus of the collection is naturally on sacred art, which is presented in all its diversity - from sculptures, paintings, altars, liturgical implements and clothing. Not only the collections, but also the historical rooms are worth a visit: the library of the former Augustinian canon monastery with ceiling frescoes by Paul Troger and Daniel Gran and the "Kerens Library" named after the first bishop of St. Pölten are architectural highlights! Special exhibitions, such as works by Kremser Schmidt in 2018, attract frequent visits.

A very exquisite museum. There are two mummies in Chinese clothes, and there are many art pieces of gold filigree craftsmanship, which are very regional. The staff is very friendly.

The Diözesanmuseum in St. Pölten is located on the first floor of the former monastery cloister. It was founded in 1888 and was the first such museum in Austria. Under the patronage of the Christian religious art association in Lower Austria, it experienced a rich and varied collecting activity in its beginnings, ranging from archaeological finds on historical documents, coins and medals to objects of painting, sculpture and cabaret from all eras. The focus of the extensive collection is the sacral art, which is presented in all its diversity - from sculptures, paintings, altars, liturgical equipment and clothes. In the early years the museum was housed in the rooms of the former abbey library, meanwhile it has been extended by several rooms.
