Leider gab es Unstimmigkeiten seitens der Vermieterin die nicht notwendig gewesen waeren und unseren Aufenthalt spuerbar getruebt haben. Very nice hut in a wonderful location. Unfortunately there were inconsistencies on the part of the landlady which would not have been necessary and have noticeably clouded our stay.

Die Vermieterin war sehr nett und unkompliziert. Kann das uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Stayed at Menggalm for 7 days in August 2017. A wonderful piece of earth there. I cannot follow the other appraisers. The landlady was very nice and straightforward. I can fully recommend this.

Außerdem gibt es viele tolle Highlights rund um St.Gallen! Gerne wieder! Self-sufficiency hut as I would like it to be! Secluded, easily accessible, uncomplicated booking and plenty of space to relax and enjoy nature! There are also many great highlights around St.Gallen! Gladly again!

Jedoch stellt die Besitzerin von Anfang an klar, dass man hier eigentlich nicht willkommen ist. Anscheinend hat sie schon sehr viele schlechte Erfahrungen mit Gästen gemacht, welche man als Neuankömmling nun ausbaden muss. Äußerst schade drum. Wenn man etwas nicht mehr mag, sollte man es bleiben lassen... Beautifully preserved self-catering hut with space for up to 11 people in one of the most beautiful areas in Austria. However, the owner makes it clear from the start that you are not really welcome here. Apparently she has had a lot of bad experiences with guests, which you have to pay for as a newcomer. It's a real shame. If you don't like something anymore, you should let it stay ...

Ich kann deren Kritik jedenfalls nicht bestätigen: die Eigentümerin war durchwegs nett, hilfsbereit und IMMER erreichbar. Sie hat mir auch unzählige Fragen vorab beantwortet, wo ich im Nachhinein draufgekommen bin, dass die Infos eigentlich auch auf der Webseite stehen - nicht ein schnippisches Kommentar, nix. Wir waren so patschert und haben uns einmal aus der Hütte ausgesperrt: Ersatzschlüssel kam binnen 15min. Also von mir für die Betreuung 5 Sterne. Aber genug davon, die meisten von euch wollen etwas zur Hütte und Lage wissen. Mit einem Wort: top. Die Bilder auf der Webseite geben die Realität gut wider. Super urige Hütte in gutem Zustand. Strom gibt's nicht, aber mit dem Holzofen, dem offenen Kamin und den Lustern/Teelichtern hatten wir überhaupt kein Problem. Sehr viel Besteck und Kochgeschirr vorhanden, mit fließend Wasser (kalt) ist man rundum gut versorgt. Wir waren zu 7 + Hund, der auf der großzügigen Wiese rund um die Hütte seinen Spaß hatte. Einzig mit dem Wetter hatten wir etwas Pech, aber das kann man sich bekanntlich ja nicht aussuchen. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder. Viel Spaß auf der Mengg Alm. I don't know what was going on with the other reviewers. In any case, I cannot confirm their criticism: the owner was consistently nice, helpful and ALWAYS available. She also answered countless questions in advance, where I found afterwards that the information was actually on the website - not a snappy comment, nothing. We were so puddled and once locked ourselves out of the hut: spare keys came within 15 minutes. So for my care 5 stars. But enough of that, most of you want to know something about the hut and location. In a word: top. The pictures on the website reflect reality well. Super rustic hut in good condition. There is no electricity, but with the wood stove, the open fireplace and the chandeliers / tea lights we had no problem at all. A lot of cutlery and cookware available, with running water (cold) you are well looked after. We were 7 + dog, who had fun on the spacious meadow around the hut. Only with the weather we had a bit of bad luck, but as you know, you can't choose that. We will definitely be back. Have fun on the Mengg Alm.
