★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A "must visit" place especially if you are near. On the top of the list is the church, the library and the view of the melk near Danube.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I enjoyed visiting the abbey, church, park and library located in this quaint little town but it was a bit unfair to not allow pictures inside. There were some translations missing on some parts.
Ticket price is 13 euros. You need to wear a mask inside but they didn't ask for covid passport or pcr.
If you're visiting from Vienna on public transport, you'll need to change trains at St. Polten.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is worth spending an hour or two visiting this beautiful town, its streets and of course the abbey. The town is also the beginning of a wonderful route along the Danube, traveling north to Vienna

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the most amazing places I visited so far. The castle was donated to the Benedictine monks by Leopold II in 1089. One of the most impressive Baroque Abbey in Europe. The library is breat-taking with 100.000 old books.
Happy to have being able to experience this.
I’d improve some descriptions in the museum which are badly translated into Italian or sometimes are just in German.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a spectacular abbey. It's massive when driving up to it. It's free to access the courtyard, but that doesn't show you much. The ticket is 13 eur per person and you see a small museum, the library, the church and the gardens. They are all over the top. Very nice. Masks required currently. Definitely a highlight in the area. Public parking on site, for free, although not many spaces.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is spectacular in every aspect and part. The architecture has great attention to detail and it has been maintained very well.
The church and library are the best part. Inside photos aren't allowed to we didn't take any. The view from top is also amazing, overseeing the Altstadt (old town) and Donau. It is important to follow the noise regulations inside the church.
Everything inside the church was amazing to see.
There are guided tours both in English/German and potentially in some other languages too. If you are visiting solo then try to plan your moving around the abbey in a way to avoid being in same place as the group (gets awkward).
Upon our visit the garden was closed but you wont miss much by not going there. You can read about it on the panorama view terrace though (has some interesting background).
There was ample of parking at the spot. Do not forget to get your card validated at the ticket counter in order to avoid paying for parking.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very beautiful! Quiet on a Sunday. 1 hour parking was just enough to see Stift Melk and walk down to old town for 10min.
Absolute shame that the inside of a Baroque church is closed off to the general public instead of its art being able to be appreciated by everyone as intended.
