★ ★ ★ ★ ★ From there, one gets a fabulous view on the valley, but what makes this castle absolutely worth visiting are the audioguide and artifacts shown inside. The visit is cleverly designed for young and old, and one can learn a about many aspects of mediaval life, history, habits, tools, produces, weapons, minerals and clothing including a dressing room where the visitor can try out a costume and make a funny family selfie. Entire visit takes about one hour. Toilets are clean and for free. Not at all accessible for wheelchairs. Further in the mountains, one can find a pristine piece of forest and mountain lake for a short walk.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice castle with good exhibition of living in middle ages. Free wifi :) And great history of people connected to castle in 20th century - but look for that on Internet :)

Unlucky in 2020 part of the castle was closed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you drive a car nearby the castle then it worth to stop and visit this fortress. There is good restaraunt with traditional food to get a meal on the way. It is true fortress and church with installations and ambience from middle ages. I like it and would visit again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quite a nice place, filled with tourists though. Would have advised you to visit it in the morning. The view from the castle is beautiful. There are two paths leading up there: "an easier one" which is paved, with no stairs, but still quite steep and a more difficult one which is more natural, with a lot of steps (definitely not recommended for strollers).

Beautifully done and so much interesting information to read and listen to.
Great place to visit with kids and school classes.
We enjoyed it very much!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very interesting place to visit especially with kids because it shows how the life in middle ages looked liked. Also there is a nice playground. Everything was clean and very enjoyable. I really recommend to visit the castle during your stay in the Lungau Region!
