Abgesehen von der heutigen Bedeutung als wichtige Verbindung zwischen dem Pielachtal und dem Melker Alpenvorland tangieren die "Luft" etliche Wanderwege, wie etwa der "Voralpenweg" (04), der "Römerweg" (651) und der "Pielachtaler- Rundwanderweg" (652). Durch einen direkt auf der Passhöhe gelegenen, recht großen Parkplatz (ehemaliges Gasthaus "zur Luft") eignet sich der Ort derart auch als idealer Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen und ausgedehnte Spaziergänge auf den zu beiden Seiten abgehenden, durch überaus reizvolle und aussichtsreiche Landschaft führende Wege entlang der Höhenzüge längs des Pielachtales.
Beliebt ist die ob ihres kurvigen Verlaufs und der sehr guten baulichen Zustandes zudem seit jeher bei Bikern, etwas eingeschränkt durch die 70er - Beschränkung für Einspurige auf der Pielachtaler Seite.
