A great heuriger to go to. Great combination of traditional food and pub ambient. Ticked all the boxes.

The staff was kind and the food was good. It's got a traditional vibe that as a foreigner, I really liked. Recommended.

Maybe we got there just on a bad evening but in our group of about 15 people we had to order our food and drinks more than once multiple times because the waiter just forgot about them. It was very annoying over the whole evening. Also the waiter started to be quite unfriendly at about half past 9, because he wanted us to go inside. And he didn't even serve us food or drinks outside from that time and said, he would bring them, when we are inside (which he forgot then). None of us understood the hurry, since being outside until 10 would have been totally fine. The quality of the food and drinks is good, the prices are quite high (especially taking into account, how long we had to wait for them sometimes).

As we were looking for a more traditional place to visit, we chose Schindler's Heuriger. We did not regret it. The garden restaurant was hard to find, but worth the short walk from the main square. The atmosphere was splendid, the beers (Puntigamer and Hirtl) refreshing. The menu is not long as this place should be considered more like a pub with some food, but the menu was finally on the traditional side - not kebab, gyros or Italian - introducing some cousine of the Monarchia era: frttaten soup, fried pork (plain and pickled) and beef, cheese plate and salads are among the fixed choices. Additionally on each day of the week there are some special daily menu choices, eg. on Tuesday different kinds of knedels (kind of german-czech dumpling) are served. If you would like to have an easy evening with friends, or just a quick supper before diving in to the night, this place is a go for.
