Es ist dies der einzige Wandergipfel dieses kleinen Gebirgsstocks, bietet dem Wanderer aber ganz hervorragende Einblicke in die gewaltige Felsenwelt von Hochkönig und Steinernes Meer sowie einen Überblick über die Hohen Tauern vom Ankogel bis zum Grossvenediger. Trittsicherheit obligat. Einkehr in der Pichlalm oder Erichhütte. The Lauskopf summit (2190m) is located in the western foothills of the Hochkönig massif in the Lausköpf rock ridge. It is the only hiking summit of this small mountain range, but offers the hiker excellent insights into the mighty rocky world of the Hochkönig and Steinernes Meer as well as an overview of the Hohe Tauern from the Ankogel to the Grossvenediger. Surefootedness is mandatory. Stop at the Pichlalm or Erichhütte.

Gehzeit für sportliche Wanderer aus der Dientner Ortsmitte ca. 3 Stunden über das Almhäusl und den Filzner Sattel. Knapp 1.200 Höhenmeter sind dann zu bewältigen. Crisp ascent, not for children. Surefootedness and a head for heights are required in any case. Walking time for sporty hikers from the center of Dientner about 3 hours over the Almhäusl and the Filzner saddle. Almost 1,200 meters in altitude then have to be mastered.
J	J. Gottemaker on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful, relative short hike (1 way: ~2h from filzensattel) with rewarding views on the top. From Pichalm it gets quite steep and the last part is a bit tricky. Overall definitely recommendable.
