Warum ich nur 2 Sterne vergebe ist, weil mittlerweile überall die Hand aufgehalten und man zur Kasse gebeten wird. Ich dachte das Land Österreich steht den Österreichern zur Verfügung. Wenn man aber überall mittlerweile Eintritt bezahlen muss, hat das nichts mehr mit Freiheit zu tun. Wenn man in die Donauauen geht ist das kostenlos, wenn man in den Prater geht ist das kostenlos, wenn man auf die Berge rund um Wien geht ist das kostenlos, warum ist das auf der Hohen Wand anders. Ist dort die Luft anders, gibt's dort Tiere oder Pflanzen die man sonst nicht sieht. Ich denke die Landschaft gehört allen also warum muss ich dafür zahlen, nur damit eine Gemeinde oder ein Park Geld verdient? Die Pflege kann es nicht sein, weil Natur sollte überall gepflegt werden und damit kostet es überall aber das sollte ja mit Steuergeld finanzierbar sein! I thought the country of Austria was available to the Austrians. But if you have to pay admission everywhere now, that has nothing to do with freedom. If you go to the Donauauen it's free, if you go to the Prater it's free, if you go to the mountains around Vienna it's free, why is it different on the Hohe Wand? If the air is different there, there are animals or plants that you otherwise cannot see. I think the landscape belongs to everyone so why do I have to pay for it just for a community or a park to make money? It cannot be care, because nature should be cared for everywhere and so it costs everywhere but it should be financially feasible with tax money!

Ein sehr beliebtes Ausflugsziel für Jung und "Alt", und auch Sportbegeisterten die in einer fantastischen Natur von Wandern, Klettern und auch Hänge- (Drachen) und Paragleiten aufgesucht wird. Die Hohe Wand Straße gibt es schon sehr lange und wurde unter Anderem aus dem selben Gründen wie die Großglockner-Hochalpenstraße erbaut: Arbeitsbeschaffung. Die Straße wurde immer wieder an das wachsende Verkehrsaufkommen verbessert, ausgebaut und vor allem sicherer Gemacht. Daher ist die Hohe Wand Straße auch eine Mautstraße. Denn, die Erhaltung und auch Winterbetreuung der Straße ist aufwendig und anspruchsvoll. Was aber zu erwähnen ist, dass nur an den Wochenenden und Feiertagen Maut, mit Naturparkeintritt, eingehoben wird. Für die länge der Straße ist die Maut aber auch sehr günstig! Das Team am Mauthäußchen ist stehts freundlch und schnell, und bemüht den oft sehr starken Besucherandrang möglichst schnell zu betreuen. Wochentags wird auf die Straße geachtet, gesäubert, gewartet und auch geräumt. The Hohe Wand - Straße leads, as the name suggests, to the Hohe Wand.
