★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We are frequent visitors to Grinzing. Great neighborhood to visit and stay. Highly recommend. Yesterday, after probably 20 visits to Caffe Nobauer we had a really unpleasant experience which prompts me to write this. Stopped at café on day of pouring rain. All ordered pastries (a day after all getting ice cream there) and person helping us made it very clear she was frustrated with our poor German. Given pouring rain, we sat at one of the 10 empty tables. Her coworker came and told us we could not sit there because we ordered at counter. No flexibility in that rule so out into the rain we marched with the kids so they could eat their pastries. Nice customer service. We no longer get our pastries or ice cream there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Surprisingly good sweets can always be found at this Grinzing cake shop. Do not get fooled by the modern and old fashions simultaneous appearances - prices are Ok, the service is great it is open on Sundays and the pastries taste really good.

Some sarcastic laugh after ordering, I thought it was about teasing the accent!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Loved this place. Delicious pastries, decent coffee with cream. Compare to Melbourne price is really good too. By the way, it is cash only! I was so happy we had cash with us which we usually don't! Also I wish the ladies woun't make fun of our accent saying the pastries names in their own language?
