Das Museum ist klein aber mit viel Liebe gestaltet und zeit die Historische Entstehung des Ortes Hieflau von der Holzgewinnung über die Holzkohleerzeugung bis hin zur Eisenschmelze! Der Eintrittspreis ist eher als Spende anzusehen da nicht wirklich hoch! Vorbeischauen lohnt sich auf alle Fälle!
Nice opportunity to eat something at the attached snack station with a view of Gesäusel and the Enns! The museum is small but lovingly designed and chronicles the historical development of the town of Hieflau from wood extraction to charcoal production to iron smelting! The entrance fee is more like a donation because it is not really high! It's definitely worth stopping by!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ein toller Einblick in die Geschichte des Dorfes das ja von der Eisen Verarbeitung und der Erzeugung der dazu benötigten Holzkohle Erzeugung lebte. Man bekommt einen tiefen Einblick in die schwere Arbeit der Holzknechte, Rechenarbeiter und Köhler und fühlt sich in die Vergangenheit zurück versetzt. Ein Besuch ist für Menschen die sich für Handwerk in Zeiten ohne Strom oder Computersteuerung interessieren sehr empfehlenswert.
A great insight into the history of the village that lived from iron processing and the production of the necessary charcoal. You get a deep insight into the hard work of the lumberjacks, arithmetic workers and charcoal burners and you feel transported back in time. A visit is highly recommended for people who are interested in handicrafts in times without electricity or computer control.
