★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A must visit place for all alpinists and mountaineers. Just 200 m in height from the top station of a lift to reach the summit. In summer the trail is safety equipped with a Steel rope. In winter crampons and ice axe is a must, but the fixed rope is also present. Terrain is easy, but aby fall can end badly. At the top you Will enjoy a magneficent views of a Salzburg country.with Grossglockner and Grossvenediger in sight.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the highest point in Salzburg region of Austria. This is also Austria's most famous ski resort. Paradise for skiers and snowboarders, this place is equally popular with the tourist. A must visit if you are in this area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kitzsteinhorn is the "Top of Salzburg", being the highest peak in Salzburg county at 3203 m.a.s.l. It can be reached quite easy as the cable cars from Kaprun lead to the summit base - to the upper station called Gipfelwelt 3000 just above the "Gletscher" at 3000 m.a.s.l. From here there is a via ferrata to the rocky and pointy summit which covers ~200 vertical meters in ~250 "horizontal" meters and which should not be taken lightly. From the top there should be (I didn't have that luck due to cloudy weather) an astonishing panoramic view of The Hohe Tauern and Austria's highest summit, Grossglockner.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This review is for the summit. The station is cool enough, worthwhile but nothing special over what many other Alpine high altitude trips offer.
The summit run is a 150m elevation gain easy going 30 min ascent. Ferrata cable to the top. Some use ferrata equipment, we didnt. Gloves are highly recommended, poles will be in the way. It can get busy and watch out for falling rocks from climbers above. I dont feel you need the guided tour if you are a hiker. The drop is immense, so no mistakes. Summer day with little wind early enough, 10:00. Wouldn’t do it on a rainy day - why would you?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After reaching the top of Salzburg station, you need to go for a medium walk up and down to reach this observation deck, but it's totally worth the effort,!
it's really cold and in some parts it gets tighter and gets hard for two to walk beside each other,,
There is several resting seats, just stop and rest a little whenever you feel like it,,
