About 80 minutes hike (410 meters) from the last parking lot of the Villach Alpine Road, a nice tour, you can strengthen yourself and enjoy the 360 degree panorama - beware of the sun, there is no shade on the way, do not forget hat / cap!

Auch heute finden während der Sommermonate noch Gottesdienste in diesem Kirchlein statt, so zum Beispiel jeweils am 25. Juli und am 15. August. Highest church in the Eastern Central Alps. It was built in 1692 after Mary appeared to a needy shepherd sitting on a stone. Even today, services are still held in this little church during the summer months, for example on 25 July and 15 August.

Zugänglich bis zum Gitter schon. Wenn man bedenkt in welchem Jahrhundert diese Kirche errichtet wurde ist es eine große Herausforderung und Leistung gewesen. Small church was built in 1692. It is easy to reach and, like the radio tower, is a landmark of the Dobratsch. The church is not permanently open. Accessible to the grid already. Und das war es auch. Die Lage und die Sicht und wie diese Kirche den Gewalten trotzt und immer noch steht. Wahnsinn. Auch die Blickbeziehung zwischen Alter Kirche und dem Sender Klagenfurt 1 (der Mast der daneben steht ^^). Wunderbar. Instant einer meiner Lieblingsorte geworden. I'm not a fan of churches at all. But when it is the highest in Europe and not as ostentatious as many others ... then it gets interesting. And it was. The location and the view and how this church defies the violence and still stands. Madness. Also the visual relationship between the old church and the Klagenfurt 1 transmitter (the mast next to it ^^). Wonderful. Instantly become one of my favorite places.
