Im Jahr 1299 wurde die Kirche erstmals genannt. Durch das Stift Passau bekam die Kirche Eine Reliquie des Heiligen Agapitus die sich vor dem Altarbild befindet. Auf der Nordseite neben dem Eingang zum Turm befindet sich der Grabstein des Ritters Christoph Zoppel. Er hatte als Herrschaftsbesitzer im 16. Jahrhundert großen Einfluss auf die Kirche und die Gemeinde.

In 1299 the church was first mentioned. Through Passau the church got a relic of St. Agapitus in front of the altarpiece. On the north side next to the entrance to the tower is the gravestone of the knight Christoph Zoppel. As a 16th century sovereign, he had great influence on the church and the community.
