★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Im September 1930 erfolgte die Grundsteinlegung für diese Kirche im Bahnhofsviertel, weit weg vom Zentrum Marcheggs. Bis zur Fertigstellung 1959 in der heutigen Form sollten also 29 Jahre vergehen ...
Interessant ist das große barocke Kreuz über dem Hochaltar, welches aus der Kapelle des Pàlffy-Schlosses Marchegg stammt. Als Bildhauer wird Jörg Petel (+ 1634) genannt.
Leider ist die Kirche außerhalb der Gottesdienstzeiten nicht zu besichtigen.
In September 1930, the foundation stone was laid for this church in the Bahnhofsviertel, far away from the center of Marchegg. It should take 29 years until its completion in 1959 in its present form ...
Interesting is the large baroque cross over the high altar, which comes from the chapel of Pàlffy Castle Marchegg. As a sculptor Jörg Petel (+ 1634) is called.
Unfortunately, the church can not be visited outside the church hours.
