Best John Harris (and probably best gym) in town. Very friendly and open atmosphere. A good mix of weight lifting and cardio machines. Love the saunas and the pool. There's a garage downstairs too. It's a bit pricey, but that keeps certain kinds of members away.

I have already been three times at the reception desk to join this gym: the first time the person in charge for newcomers was not there (apparently you can only become a new member Mo-Fr, 11:00-18:00); the second time I managed to talk to him, who asked me for 290 Eur to join, out of the question. I then learnt from a friend that you can get the membership of someone exiting the gym at 0 Eur, which I eventually took as a course of action. I still needed to do some paperwork and coordinated a meeting with the person in charge: he ditched me, I left after waiting for 15 minutes. Paperwork still undone. I wonder whether they actually want more members in this gym, maybe I should stay at Fitinn nearby, where everyone is friendly and new equipment always available. But regretfully they do not have a pool, which is the reason why I want to join John Harris despite the lack of good service. Update: I could finally join this club. The pool is in good shape, machines are brand new. There is air conditioning in the club and a bar with freshly made fruit juices. The sauna area could be better (finnish sauna is rundown and shabby) and they do not switch it on before guests arrive so it is useless first time in the morning. Lockers too small, it gets easily crowded. On the weekend they like to sleep and only opens after 09.00, which spoils your day plans: gym or plans, while it could be gym AND plans. Employees are very friendly but guests are not and noone will return you a “guten morgen”.

Maybe it used to be a good place, but not anymore. After 6 months membership, I would say the overall experience leaves a lot to desire. The customer relationship is appalling, considering the price segment and the self-proclaimed "exclusive/luxury" gym. Beware of everything that you discuss with the sales manager, Alexander Pazourek, you might be in for a lot of surprises after you sign the contract. The spinning courses are limited, and the only way to reserve a place is to come in more than 30 minutes early to put a towel on your bike. The schedule of the gym is for weekend days until 9, but you must go to lockers area 30 in advance, so 8 30 the latest. Instructors there are like overzealous policemen. They will come at 8 30 sharp to tell you that it's time to go to the locker. The only other time I was approached by an instructor was to ask me if I have a towel while I was running on the treadmill, and after showing it to her she just said "Oh, I did not see it because it was black". On the good side, go there if you want to make use of their 25m pool as it is big, clean and there are only few people.

This is an amazing gym! Equipment is modern and well-maintained, and you never have to wait for any of it (at least in my experience). The classes are great as well - I particularly like their many Zumba offerings. The best thing about this place would have to be the staff. They're courteous, helpful, and are willing to help those who haven't quite mastered the German language yet. No complaints!

Exemplary! Great assortment of equipment, friendly staff, always immaculate, pool, trainers and nice dressing room. BTW yes they have those funky timed water controls in the shower but they run for a reasonable time and the water is instantly hot. Worth EVERY penny.

After near 3 months of membership I finally got my hands on reviewing this wellness! Buckle up for some useful information before choosing this place as your sweating station :) Firstly I must say, that location was chosen very wisely. 5th district may be one of the calmest and most enjoyable spots in Vienna. Coming to wellness itself you may find here almost every treasure for your exhausted body such as spa equipped with sauna, steam room and mild sauna with phototherapy lights. What also makes this place unique, that it has quite big pool with futuristic lighting. Has its own terrace on 2nd floor of spa for anyone wanting natural tanning. But it is quite small though. I made a membership for 6 months with automatic cancellation (to decide wether I WILL stay with them or will switch to another one). It was discounted for me being a student (please don’t expect big discounts in this place or in general in Vienna, this city didn’t use to make them at all). Areas are cleaned regularly by cleaning team. Staff is helpful and what is important friendly. However some receptionists get bothered to smile to their customers, which is quite native and common here in Vienna for some reason. Please avoid visiting this place during busy hours, as it is almost not possible to enjoy your day and may ruin it and lead you to leave angry review here as some natives did. Some improvements required: 1. Shower panels in pool area was constructed for 1,50-1,60m life beings as it is quite difficult for the person with average height to take a shower under it before getting into pool. 2. Interactive games such as cycling or running on cardio machines would make someone’s weight loss more competitive and enjoyable! 3. The last I wanted to add something eco-friendly to this place such as limit for the water usage at showers with possibility to use it again after let’s say 1-5 min pause per member. Would totally save a 0,0000001% of local environment. Well that’s how I feel for now. If anything will happen, I may adjust my review still :)

Although not cheap, this gym is worth every cent. You have all the weights and machines you need, all of which are in great shape. The place is always clean and welcoming. The staff is very nice, honest, and helpful. I also really enjoy the pool and sauna areas. My only feedback in terms of how to make the gym even better: It’d be nice to have a bigger and roomier locker room. It gets a little tight in there, especially during the busy hours. Besides that, I totally recommend this JH! I hope management continues the good work.

My gym for many years now. Spacious, not too crowded, sports equipment galore for all kinds of workouts, 25m pool, group fitness classes, friendly and supportive staff and trainers. Relaxing sauna and steam-bath and a rooftop terrace for cooling down.
