V	Virginia Walder on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bestes Hotel !! Kinder sehr willkommen und So kinderfreundlich. Noch nie gehabt dass das Personal so freundlich und familiär mit Gäste und überhaupt Kinder umgegangen ist. Der Abschied viel sehr schwer, aber wir kommen nächstes Jahr ganz ganz sicher wieder ??? Das Essen war ausgezeichnet. Schon lange nicht mehr so gut und hervorragend gegessen. Alles top. Zimmer, Personal, Essen, Lage, Ausflugsziele. Nur empfehlenswert ♥️♥️ Best Hotel !! Children very welcome and so child friendly. Never had the staff treated guests and children in such a friendly and familiar manner. It was very difficult to say goodbye, but we will definitely be back next year ??? The food was excellent. It's been a long time since eaten so well and excellently. Everything perfect. Rooms, staff, food, location, excursion destinations. Only recommended ♥ ️ ♥ ️
K	Kristof Body on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sehr gute Bedienung, teilweise langsam, dennoch sehr zuvorkommend. Das Essen war sehr köstlich (habe vier verschiedene Speisen gekostet). Die Atmosphäre ist laut, aber sehr nett. Very good service, sometimes slow, but very courteous. The food was very delicious (tasted four different dishes). The atmosphere is loud but very nice.
B	Björn on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nach einer Autopanne wurden wir (2 Erwachsene, 4 Kinder) sehr herzlich empfangen, mit leckerem Essen durch eine sehr freundliche Bedienung versorgt und haben in liebevoll eingerichteten Zimmern übernachtet. Das Hotel ist klar zu empfehlen. After a car broke down, we (2 adults, 4 children) were warmly welcomed, provided with delicious food by a very friendly service and stayed in lovingly furnished rooms. The hotel is clearly to be recommended.

Die junge Dame im Service war super freundlich, fix, locker, einfach gut drauf! Das Essen war köstlich und reichlich, die Gaststube einfach nur gemütlich! Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder! On our last evening in Mauterndorf, thank God, we ate here... and had a wonderful evening! The young lady in the service was super friendly, quick, relaxed, just in a good mood! The food was delicious and plentiful, the dining room just cozy! We will be back definitely!

Jahre alten Haus, findet man hier sämtlichen Komfort für einen wunderbar erholsamen (Ski-)urlaub. Wir haben das Wochenende sehr genossen. ? Hospitality is very important here! You feel very welcome and cared for. In addition to the great ambience in a 1000 (!) year old house, you will find all the comforts for a wonderfully relaxing (ski) holiday. We really enjoyed the weekend. ?
H	Hans on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ At the end of June 2019, we stayed at Hotel Steffner-Wallner / Kernwirt for a full week and we felt completely at home. We booked a 'halfpension-arrangement' including daily E-MTB's. The hotels are nicely located in the heart of Mauterndorf, the food was good and the sauna lovely. The Cheffin and crew gave a personal touch to our stay which you do not see that often these days. The solid and young E-bikes were a fantastic new experience. MTB-maps brought us more or less on every top in the neighbourhood and .... down as well. Especially the trip through Weisspriach and further down the valley was gorgious with superb views; thank you Cheffin for the advise! The LungauCard gives you all kinds of nice-to-haves among which a free visit to astonishing Burg Mauterdorf and a free ride on certain days with the Gondola. Thank you to Lungau, Mauterndorf and all Steffner-Walner / Kernwirt staff! Great memories already and building by the day!
F	Femke Femke on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ —we were at The restaurant, not the hotel— In earlier reviews I read that they were childfriendly, but we didn’t really notice that. Our waitress was quite nervous and forgot us to show the specials. We weren’t amused about that, but she kindly appologised afterwards. Which we appreciated. Nevertheless we wouldn’t recommend the restaurant due to the service. The boss (owner) was very very snappy to the waitress about everything: saying where and where not people could sit. Not allowing stuff that was actually quite normal. He wasn’t relaxed AT ALL. This lead to mistakes. The irony was that there are all these memes and quotes on the wall that the owner himself could still take lessons in, for instance to be kind and relaxed to guests and your co-workers. This will lead to a much better experience!
