★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Horribly uncomfortable experience. My room sat in the highest corner reaches of the building at the top of three-flights of stairs and was the size of my walk-in closet back in upstate NY. Oh and did I mention, there was No Air Conditioning, central air, or ceiling fan in sight! Only a small window blocked by other rooftops. Quite possibly be the WORST LODGING Experience ever!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have stayed at the Mader many times in the past. Rooms are rather traditional and I do not mean it in a bad way. Breakfast is excellent, so is the restaurant attached to the hotel. So far I have only encountered friendly staff :-)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You will be hard pressed to find another hotel like this. Wonderful setting in the heart of Steyr. Every room unique and well presented along the maze of corridors and hidden doors. Fantastic place. Love It!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a nice and friendly Hotel built into several very old Houses (early 16th century). A Hotel is in this Place since 1694, it was expanded to its current Size in 1978.
Most of the Rooms are accessible, but not all due to the Age of the Building. If You talk to the Staff, they will be glad to help.
The Breakfast is extremely rich and good and most of the Food is prepared fresh. You can even press Your own Juice.
If You never stayed in a House that old, go for that Experience and plan enough Time to explore the fabulous Town and its Sights.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very good and clean place. Wonderful staff. The breakfast is very rich, traditional design. Lately very full there were again no free rooms for our yearly Steyr visit, so maybe next time... Yet we went by for a dinner late in the evening and it was very tasty. The only minus I could ever give for the hotel is the missing elevator ;)
