★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good location, closest accommodation to lake braies (other than the big hotel on the lake itself) . Nice apartment, comfy bed & warm. Kitchenette could do with being updated, the oven looked like it hadn't been used in years, and I wasn't sure if we were even supposed to use it? The electric hob kept fusing the electrics, and the gas hob didn't have much gas, so everything took a while to cook.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They stayed up and kept the lights on outside. It was around 1 am and there was not a single sign anywhere when I got off the train. I remembered that the lodge was near a river that fortunately I could hear and then as I came up there was the light and I was drawn and I was there. That entire experience was extraordinary and they helped set it up. Scharnitz is definitely a place to consider retiring at.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The rooms are nice, big enough and clean. Breakfast buffet is relatively simple but ok. The hotel also offers a small sauna (was quite packed in the evenings). One thing I really did not like is the unfriendly hostess. She makes her job well but never smiles and makes a totally unfriendly impression
