I had desire to jump into the clear water and swim. I unfortunately visited the place in the middle of April when the water is still very cold. Maybe next time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Hinterer Langbathsee is easily reached from the car park at the Vorderer Langbathsee, and is quieter and more tranquil than the latter. Particularly worth a visit in the autumn to see the autumn colours on the trees, its location set in a bowl of the mountains is glorious.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the most beautiful settings in the Salzkammergut, which is not far from the Vorderer Langbathsee and can be accessed via forest road from two approaches, both have fairly steep sections but are over quickly. A short stroll around the lake is also worth it to see the boulder strewn and enchanting moss filled forest which is excellent no matter the weather!
