Die neue Pfarrkirche wurde in den Jahren 1862 - 1865 unter Pfarrer Christian Knecht, nach Plänen des Innsbrucker Architekten Anton Geppert durch Johannes Wilhelm aus Fraxern, im neuroamischen Stil erbaut. Das Äussere der Kirche wurde durch die Doppelturmfassade geprägt. Ab dem Jahre 1949 nahm man im Innenraum eine Renovierung und Umgestaltung vor. Von Martin Häusle stammen die Kirchenfenster im Langhaus und in der Apsis. Die drei Fensterrosetten gestaltete Mila Bjelik-Stöhr. Die drei Altäre wurden nach Entwürfen von Herbert Albrecht ausgeführt. Die Pfarrkirche wurde 2007/2008 nach Plänen des Architekten Christian Lenz, Schwarzach, umfassend renoviert und neu interpretiert. Sie erstrahlt nun in neuem Glanz. Der Künstler Franz Erhard Walther aus Fulda lieferte 7 Bodenplatten aus Cortenestahl mit Worten, die zum Nachdenken und Meditieren anregen sollen. (Quelle: goetzis.at)
A beautiful church in the middle of the Rhine Valley. The new parish church was built in the years 1862 - 1865 under Pastor Christian Knecht, according to plans by Innsbruck architect Anton Geppert by Johannes Wilhelm from Fraxern, in the Neoamic style. The exterior of the church was shaped by the double tower facade. From 1949, the interior was renovated and redesigned. The church windows in the nave and in the apse come from Martin Häusle. Mila Bjelik-Stöhr designed the three window rosettes. The three altars were designed by Herbert Albrecht. The parish church was extensively renovated and reinterpreted in 2007/2008 according to plans by the architect Christian Lenz, Schwarzach. It now shines in new splendor. The artist Franz Erhard Walther from Fulda supplied 7 Cortenese steel floor slabs with words to stimulate thought and meditation. (Source: goetzis.at)
