Kaiserschmarrn is recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We reserved a room and this place and arrived around 5 p.m. after 6 hours of hike. Our bad that we lost some money on the way and realized that when we got there. So we shared our problem with them, willing to leave our credit card or arrange for any other mean such as bank transfer, etc. We were aware that the place is cash only, but were hopeful they could find a way to accommodate for two travelers. That was absolutely NOT the case. Not only they did not offer ANY help whatsoever, but even the staff did not have any willingbess to help and understand our problem, or at least show some emphathy towards us by TRYING to help! There was nothing call hospitality in this place, just a rude cold reaction and money-in-mind business....

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic hut, very friendly staff, good food. June 2016 - seems to have been recently modernised, room we were in was perfect for hikers coming off the Wilder Kaiser mountains, everything has a solid and well-looked after feel without detracting from the Austrian hut charm.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The place can be reached within a really short walk up from Wochenbrunner Alm. The path is large as a street and easy to manage, even though rather steep. The Food at Gaudeamushütte was delicious and quickly prepared, but way too expensive. However, the beautiful view makes it worth stopping there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Super spot for having genuine mountain food, have drink and rest while climbing, hiking or mountain bike at the Wilder Kaiser national park. The staff is really sweet, authentic Austrian hospitality with a smile. You can tell they love the alpine nature and making guests comfortable. ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Friendly staff, good food, and great company. When we arrived there were no more individual rooms available, so we stayed in the lager, which was a big bunk bed for 8 people. A bit strange at first, but we were very tired and slept well. Breakfast was super.
