M	Mario R. on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Das Zimmer war zweckmäßig aber sauber, das Frühstück sehr gut und mit viel Liebe zum Detail zubereitet. The room was functional but clean, the breakfast was very good and prepared with great attention to detail.

Eine wirkliche Überraschung, nach so vielen Empfehlungen war es ja nicht, aber der gestrige Abend überzeugte dann doch in allen Belangen. Wer die gehobene Küche schätzt, sich auf moderne Küchenkunst - trifft traditionelles Feines einlässt, der ist in der Dorfschmiede bei Fam. Müller bestens aufgehoben. Die Mottowoche mit Gansl-Allerlei kammuns gerade recht. Eine wundervolle ungezwungene Atmosphere im gut besuchten geschmackvoll dekorierten Restaurant, ein sehr netter schneller Service und eine tolle Karte bildeten den Start in einen schönen Abend. Aperetiv: Selbst erzeugter Birnensekt und eine Holunderlimonade - wie aus Großmutters besten Zeiten. Herrlich! Die Menüfolge war dann auch schnell gewählt: - Selbstgebackenes Brot (4 ! Sorten) mit Gänseschmalzcreme - Eine Foie Gras mit geräucherter Gänsebrust, Terrine, eingelegte Wallnüsse, Sesampralinen und einem HolunderChuttney…..alles unfassbar gut. Dazu Zimtreindling! - Die gebratene Gans mit klassischer Beilage und einem Rotkraut wie man es besser noch nie gegessen hat (mit kleinem Knusper im Mund durch die eingekochen Feigen!) - Steinpilzrisotto mit luftgetrocknetem Schinken und Granatapfelkernen - Dazwischen ein Gruß aus der Küche …und jede Menge netter kurzer Gespräche mit der Wirtin über die vielen selbstgemachten Leckereien von Geselchtem über Obstsäfte bis hin zu edlen Bränden - und alles auch zum mitnehmen. Wir kommen ganz sicher wieder, denn so geht Gastronomie und gute Küche! Resumé: Der Dorfschmied ist für uns besser als so manches Haubenlokal in der unmittelbaren Nähe!! Bäääm! Found! The secret tip in Lower Carinthia has been found. A real surprise, after so many recommendations it wasn't, but yesterday evening was convincing in all respects. Anyone who appreciates upscale cuisine, likes modern kitchen art - meets traditional delicacies, is in good hands in the Dorfschmiede with Fam. Müller. The motto week with all sorts of goose slices was just right for us. A wonderful informal atmosphere in the well-frequented, tastefully decorated restaurant, a very nice, fast service and a great menu formed the start of a beautiful evening. Aperitif: Homemade pear sparkling wine and an elderberry lemonade - like from grandmother's best times. Splendid! The menu sequence was quickly chosen: - Homemade bread (4! Types) with goose lard cream - A foie gras with smoked goose breast, terrine, pickled walnuts, sesame pralines and an elderberry chuttney… ..all incredibly good. In addition, cinnamon pebbles! - The roast goose with a classic side dish and a red cabbage like you have never eaten better (with a small crisp in the mouth from the boiled down figs!) - Porcini mushroom risotto with air-dried ham and pomegranate seeds - In between a greeting from the kitchen ... and lots of nice short conversations with the landlady about the many homemade delicacies from smoked meat to fruit juices to fine brandies - and everything to take away. We'll be back for sure, because that's how gastronomy and good cuisine work! Resumé: The village blacksmith is better for us than many a gourmet restaurant in the immediate vicinity !!

If you want a warm staying and a top chef kitchen then is the right choice in the area. The prices are comparable with others a bit higher but worth it. The rooms are not pricy and are nice and comfy. Unfortunately (or fortunately) the place is not for the people who like living in cities, it is very quiet. Bicycle riding is possible in surroundings but not too much more. (BYOB - Bring your own Bicycle)
