Gasthof Tell

It is a three star and three star is worth it. We have passed a New Year's Eve, the village is small and poorly served but it is at the center of a series of possible interesting excursions in summer and 20 minutes from Villach. Hotel: well, as the title suggests it is a three star hotel. The rooms are furnished in style but need a general cleaning. I'm worn out. Cleaning is not at the top but sufficient, except for the bathrooms that I have always found perfectly passed (there is also a bidet). In the rooms I would recommend the "do not disturb" plate to be put in order to prevent the cleaning lady from entering on the 1st of the year while you digest them the dinner! The service is sufficient but I understand that during the Christmas period maybe there may be some stirring in the kitchen. The seats are about 50 and also offer restaurant service and that's it. A few smiles from the extra maid and some attention to the extra kids wouldn't hurt. So far it would seem more from three than from 4 stars but I am one who cares for other things and does not bother me if in some lamp I find a spider web. The food is EXCELLENT, so I recommend half board which includes first and second appetizers and desserts (breakfast is missing a little of the sweet part). The drinks are paid separately of course. The reception of the elderly owners is excellent and they try hard to speak Italian which is not always obvious in Austria. (Ps ... there is a pizzeria in front of it, from Angelo, small but small with excellent pizzas and the manager was very cordial from Tarvisio! ). The bill in the norm, also considering the period. I recommend contacting them directly by email but you need to know German. I do not publish the price list for correctness but it has been respected with some discounts for extra children ... but we were 14 and this affects) Ultimately a good place, I would recommend it and would go back and a note. We are rowdy Italians often late, and I perceived some distrust from someone but in the end the two owners will remain in my heart. You can perceive all the work of a life that has been behind it ... and even if the rooms are a little refined they deserve a nice 4 stars and a review in the summer. Recommended for those who look after the substance and not too much on the surface.

We found this gasthaus thanks to the advertising signs near the road. Nice and clean place. It is just a pity that it is a little too sparsely furnished in detail with the typical Tyrolean gadgets. Varied menu and good prices. We ate a good wienerschnitzel of good quality and with a light fry. Cost eur 9.50 with chips.

Wonderful and cozy country inn, which is one of the most beautiful restaurants in Upper Carinthia due to its architecture and furnishings. Located directly on the market square in Paternion, the visit is particularly suitable for cyclists to take a break with an excellent meal. The use of regional ingredients, such as potatoes from our own farming town, is particularly praiseworthy. The boss is also unique.

Can only speak for the restaurant: bad !! You feel totally unwelcome, waiting for 15 minutes for the first contact and then another 10 minutes for the menu is not apologized. No greeting, you are ignored and so on ... I will never see you there again.
