Auch das Preis Leistungsverhältnis stimmt hier. We were in this gallery spontaneously and were given friendly advice and service and can recommend it to every lover of African art. The price-performance ratio is also right here.
R	Robert Hertenberger on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ich habe die Galerie anlässlich der Ausstellung "Internationale zeitgenössische Kunst trifft Kilengi African Art" im September 2018 besucht. Der Raum entsprach gar nicht dem, was ich mir von einer Galerie erwarte: besonders unangenehm empfand ich das kalte Licht (Leuchtstoffröhren, keine gezielte Beleuchtung der ausgestellten Objekte). Die Arbeiten selbst waren, sehr unterschiedlich - manche haben mir gut gefallen, manche weniger. Ich werde wahrscheinlich kein zweites Mal kommen. Was ich sehr positiv finde: Der Betreiber hat mit mir Kontakt aufgenommen und wollte möglichst genau wissen, was mir gefallen hat und was nicht. Ich habe jedenfalls den Eindruck, dass die Kritik ernst genommen wird. I visited the gallery on the occasion of the exhibition "International Contemporary Art meets Kilengi African Art" in September 2018. The room did not correspond at all to what I expect from a gallery: I found the cold light particularly unpleasant (fluorescent tubes, no targeted lighting of the objects on display). The work itself was very different - some I liked a lot, some less. I will probably not come a second time. What I find very positive: The operator contacted me and wanted to know as precisely as possible what I liked and what I didn't like. In any case, I have the impression that the criticism is being taken seriously.
A	Andreas Wakolbinger on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Die Galerie Kilengi von Alexander Schwaighofer ist in vielfacher Hinsicht etwas Einzigartiges in Wien/ Österreich. Besonders ist, daß Herr Schwaighofer einen persönlichen Bezug zu den meisten Kunstgegenständen hat und in allen Fällen etwas über die Geschichte und den Hintergrund des jeweiligen Objektes zu erzählen hat. Es gibt bei ihm nur ausgewählte, handgefertigte Einzelstücke. Die Atmosphäre in der Galerie ist dem Thema entsprechend beruhigend und gleichzeitig offen, oft wird auch afrikanische und internationale Musik gespielt. Der Hausherr nimmt sich gerne und lange für jeden einzelnen Besucher Zeit. Er hat im Übrigen den Schauraum geschmackvoll und einladend gestaltet. Auch finden in der Galerie sowie auch an anderen attraktiven Orten regelmäßig Ausstellungen und Events statt, in denen Herr Schwaighofer oft auch mit anderen nationalen und internationalen Künstlern seine Stücke zum Kauf anbietet. Ich denke auch, daß jeder, der etwas Besonderes Afrikanisches (auch als Geschenk) sucht, bei Kilengi etwas finden wird. Viel Glück und interessante Begegnungen weiterhin. Andreas Wakolbinger The gallery Kilengi by Alexander Schwaighofer is in many ways something unique in Vienna / Austria. What is special is that Mr. Schwaighofer has a personal connection to most works of art and has to tell in each case something about the history and the background of the respective object. There are only selected, hand-made individual pieces. The atmosphere in the gallery is accordingly calming and at the same time open to the theme, often also African and international music is played. The landlord likes to take time for each individual visitor for a long time. Incidentally, he has made the showroom tasteful and inviting. There are also regular exhibitions and events taking place in the gallery as well as other attractive locations, where Mr Schwaighofer often offers his pieces for sale with other national and international artists. I also think that anyone looking for something special African (also as a gift) will find something at Kilengi. Good luck and interesting encounters continue. Andreas Wakolbinger
S	Sevil Semiz on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Am 14.Nov habe ich an der Vernissage ‚Magie et Rituals’ teilgenommen und war absolut begeistert! Die Masken waren sehr schön aufgestellt und haben zusammen mit den zeitgenössischen Kunstwerken eine sehr besondere Atmosphäre geschaffen. Mag. Alexander Schwaighofer hat die Besonderheit afrikanischer Masken ausführlich erklärt und sehr gut gefiel mir auch die Erklärung zur Bedeutung des Begriffs ‚kilengi‘ nämlich: ‚Das Wort kommt aus dem Afrikanischen und bedeutet: die Freude, die man empfindet beim Betrachten von etwas Schönem.‘ On Nov. 14th I took part in the Vernissage, Magic et Rituals' and was absolutely thrilled! The masks were beautifully set up and, together with the contemporary works of art, created a very special atmosphere. Alexander Schwaighofer has explained in detail the peculiarity of African masks and I also very much liked the explanation of the meaning of the term 'kilengi', namely, 'The word comes from the African and means: the joy one experiences when looking at something beautiful. '
R	Richard Gauss on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Auf der Suche nach afrikanischen Steckstühlen bin ich auf die Galerie Kilengi gestoßen. Inzwischen habe ich schon drei erworben! Der Grund ist nicht die akademische Tiefe, mit der man von oben herab belehrt wird, auch nicht die musealen Galerieräumlichkeiten - nein, das braucht es auch nicht -, sondern das ehrliche Angebot eines jungen Mannes, der offenbar nachhaltig aber nicht aufdringlich versucht mit seinem Hobby sich eine Lebensgrundlage zu schaffen. Ich bin kein großer Sammler afrikanischer Kunst und auch kein sonderlicher Kenner. Ich bin nur regelmäßig Besucher Afrikas und habe dort familiären Anschluss. Und ich liebe schöne, - aber auch praktische Dinge, wie z.B. Steckstühle.... Für Leute, die am liebsten „down to earth“ über Kunst und Kultur sinnieren wollen, ist daher meiner Meinung die Galerie Kilengi mit ihrer Auswahl ideal. FAZIT: Tolles Angebot! Freundlich erfrischender und zuvorkommender Service. Dienstleistung wie sie es sein soll! R.G. While looking for African plug-in chairs, I came across the Kilengi Gallery. I've already bought three! The reason is not the academic depth with which one is instructed from above, not even the museum gallery space - no, it does not need that either - but the honest offer of a young man who apparently tries persistently but not intrusively with his hobby to create a livelihood. I am not a great collector of African art, and I am not a very connoisseur either. I am just a regular visitor to Africa and have a family connection there. And I love beautiful, but also practical things, such as plug-in chairs ... For people who would like to ponder art and culture "down to earth", in my opinion the Kilengi Gallery is ideal with its selection. CONCLUSION: Great offer! Friendly, refreshing and courteous service. Service as it should be! R.G.
