Frierss Feines Haus

Highly recommended! One of the finest, most delicious, most perfectly cooked filets mingon this native Texan has ever eaten, anywhere! Frierss is a large, family-owned butcher and meat curer that has been in operation since 1898. More recently, the family opened a small restaurant and shop (Frierss Feines Haus) that's attached directly to the meat processing facility. The atmosphere is upscale casual. One section of the restaurant does double duty as a delicatessen shop, with fine wines, imported spices and other packaged delicacies, as well as a butcher's counter for those who wish to buy something to enjoy at home. It was an unfamiliar concept for me, but it seems to work very well. The wait staff is comprised of friendly, attentive professionals who treat their guests as one might expect to be treated in a fine steakhouse. They're also happy to give excellent wine recommendations to pair with your meal. The prices aren't cheap, but I consider them to be extremely reasonable for the outstanding quality of food and service I've experienced here. I would say this is a case of getting more than you pay for when compared to most steakhouses. I went with a friend for late afternoon lunch. We were served a delicious, complimentary appetizer, and each of us ordered a soup and filet mignon. I can't stress strongly enough how good everything tasted. Sublime. The filet was huge and cooked absolutely perfectly to order (I ordered mine medium rare). The presentation of the food was outstanding, as well. One tip: if you order truffel, the waiter will shave it at your table, and you will be charged by the gram. I was a little greedy and ended up unexpectedly paying more for my white truffel than I did for my filet. This is not a complaint, just a tip in case you decide to opt for freshly shaved truffel. In summary, I can't recommend this place highly enough. The attention to detail, quality and service are top-notch. I'd eat there every day, if I could :)

Very great services, served with two little "greetings from the kitchen" before they served an awesome made meal. :) The waiters know everything they need to and showed the meat they recommended today before ordering. The meal was totally worth the price. A restaurant for special occasions. :)

Always worth a visit... I like the lunch meal and love the special dinner events... Sometimes crowded but mostly you can get a place at the bar area...

I visited this place by recommendation. Usually I am passing by such places located in industrial zones and close to gas stations. But I was so surprised. Very stylish interior. All dishes that we ordered looked fantastic and what is more important, tasted even better! It’s “Must Visit Place“!
