★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a really cool castle with an awesome view but the parking situation is hellish. The guided tour is good but moves a bit too quickly to get a good look at everything and, believe me, there is a lot of cool stuff to see. You'll want to plan in more time to see what isn't included in the tour. Just know that the guided tour itself is the only way to see the best stuff. Totally worth a visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited this castle about an hour away from Vienna as part of the Niederösterreich Card offer. The castle is part of the Esterhazy legacy in eastern Austria. Unfortunately we didn't arrive on time to catch a guided tour so the review is based on a "self guided" tour of the exhibit. We visited the main exhibit that contains paintings and some furniture/collectibles of the Esterhazy dynasty. The information in each hall was enough to give us an overview of the history and the booklet was a good companion for describing the stuff itself. I only gave it 4 ? because there are 3 different exhibitions you can see, two of them by guided tour only and each costs 12 Euros, which I think is a bit expensive. Otherwise it's a great weekend day trip destination.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a stunning building! A veritable mountain on a mountain it was worth the drive even though the exhibits were not open. We were still able to walk the grounds and admire the ancient edifice. Kids had a great time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautifully saved castle on the hill - you can enter the area without buying a ticket. Down the road you have this bench and a view perfect for a picture with the whole castle.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow, despite of the freezing winter weather, the castle and the way there was really amazing! The castle can be seen from far away, and is a really unbelievable sight, approaching from the villages below. The frozen forests added a lot, too. Unfortunately, in the winter season, they only seem to offer tours (I wanted to check Dracula, but the office was closed at noon, and I had no time to wait. Might be useful to call in advance about the scheduled tours!) The complex is a bit on the modern side for me, but still is a special location that is well worth the visit, I really recommend!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Definitely worth a visit, this is one of our favorite castles, it is in great condition and we can see an incredibly rich collection from different ages during the visit.
The view from the terrace is beautiful, you can see the whole valley.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very nice castle. I liked it a lot. On the hill, above very beautiful little town. Parking lot is free of charge. There is also a nice Cafe/restaurant on the site. Museum inside castle is very interesting. There are so many interesting things to see and learn. Staff was more then friendly and polite and very professional and helpful.
For every recommendation.
