Die FH St. Pölten GmbH bietet Hochschulausbildung in den Departments Bahntechnologie und Mobilität, Gesundheit, Informatik und Security, Medien und Digitale Technologien, Medien und Wirtschaft sowie Soziales. Die Verbindung der Themengebiete in Lehre und Forschung schafft Raum für interdisziplinäre wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse, Produkte und Lösungen für Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft. Rund 3.000 Studierende erhalten in 22 Studiengängen und in zahlreichen Weiterbildungslehrgängen eine praxisbezogene akademische Ausbildung.

Gute Organisation, sehr schönes Gebäude, und scheinbar zufriedene Studenten u. Studenteninnen

Der Medientechnik Studiengang (Bachelor) ist sehr breit aufgestellt und man kann sich dann auch nach dem 2. Semester für eine Richtung entscheiden (zur Auswahl gibt es "Audio/Video" und "Interaktive Medien"). Es sind durchaus interessante Kurse dabei, die in mir das Interesse zum Programmieren geweckt haben.

Die Ausbildungseinrichtung ist neu, modern eingerichtet, die Lehrenden sind sehr zuvorkommend, egal mit welchen Gedanken man hier eintritt, kommt man mit ganz positiven wieder raus. Die Studiengänge haben modernste Labs und alles ist auf den Studenten zugeschnitten, die modernen Trends auch in der Ausbildung scheinen ein Leitmotiv zu sein. Die Organisation und der Aufbau sowie die Partnernetzwerke ebenfalls löblich. Einzig das Essen in der Mensa könnte besser ausgewogener und gesünder gemacht werden

I studied at many universities all over the world and the studies at Fh. St. Poelten was the worst experience. I got the impression that people there are not professional and they do not care about their work at all. You have to wait for weeks or sometimes months if you simply want to get a reply to your email. If people are out of the office, they even do not have out of office replies. Also, the employees demonstrate zero willingness to help students, they are always in a bad mood and many of them are not polite. You have to keep asking people about everything, sending emails, asking the same questions again and again. And you will get uninformative and sometimes rude replies which will not help you at all. I attended there a Master's program in Digital Health. The program was very imbalanced: 90% of courses in the first semester was only about video production and software development. It is good to know about it but to spend all your time on the things which you will never be able to do professionally is a waste of time. I especially would like to point the work of the Head of Academic program, Prof. Jakob Doppler. He was one of the main reasons why I left the program after the first semester. His approach to work is emotional and chaotic. He treats students without respect like we are at school and instead of helping students he is trying to exercise his power. It was not possible to communicate with him normally and even to ask study-related questions. He always pointed out that the questions you ask are stupid and he does not understand why you ask them. I think he simply does not like his job and does not like students. I think such people should not work with students. I am glad that I finished my studies there and it is a shame that an educational institution with such an approach exists in Austria.

Great new building, a sign of developments, but the quality and drive of the university, it's leaders and staff are the main asset.
