★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ein eher kleiner See nordwestlich oberhalb von Abtenau. Zugänglich über einen kleinen Stichpfad vom Eglseerundweg und auch nur an einer kleinen Uferstelle. Dort befindet sich eine offene Stelle im Schilf. Am Ufer eine Bank neben einer Kastanie und eine Schautafel. Kein Badesee.
A rather small lake northwest above Abtenau. Accessible via a small branch path from the Eglseerundweg and only on a small bank. There is an open spot in the reeds. On the bank a bench next to a chestnut and a billboard. No lake.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ein kleiner See, der als Biotop die Möglichkeit des Beobachten gibt und nur an einer Stelle einen Zugang hat. Der Rundwanderweg herum ist gut beschildert und mit sanften Steigungen gut zu bewältigen. Ein kleiner Parkplatz in etwa 500 Meter Entfernung zum Eglsee bietet wenigen Autos Platz.
A small lake that offers the possibility of observation as a biotope and only has access in one place. The circular trail is well signposted and easy to negotiate with gentle climbs. A small parking lot about 500 meters away from the Eglsee offers space for a few cars.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A small, dying lake. Nothing much to see. You do get a good view from there. When it's dark, one gets good view of milkyway. If you are lucky, you may find deers, staring at you. Locals don't concern themselves if you stay there for long time. Do exchange pleasantries when you happen to see them. Most importantly, be careful. Be careful in the swamp. I hope people of Abtenau do restore its former glory.
