★ ★ ★ ★ ★ SCAMMER’S , I sended a package to one of my friend in Austria and i paid for the package 159€ PLUS for Express Delivery , they said that the package should arrived for three days, They Lied it arrived after 2 Weeks and they made us to Pay 105€ If we wanted to get the Package......

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When i want to tell a terrible customer service story i would say DHL express (Austria). Too many complications, i had to send and reply their emails for nearly more than 10 days…. 300 Euros hidden cost paid cash while i knew i have to pay that amount from the courier driver!!! Very disappointed with their service and they know that and don’t even care.
Think twice before you deal with them.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I ordered some product samples from Hong Kong. I expected this package 3-5 days. The value of the packat was 8 USD. After 3 Days I've got an Email, that they need some documents of my comapny for customs. I send them the documents via Email. After 3 working days, I contacted customer service. They told me, the process could take up to 30 days. So I ordered some other samples, and refused to accept the shipping, because I had to pay over 40 Euros for storage fees of a shipping with 8 USD value.
That is the most unlogical rules, that I have ever heard, that they block a 8 USD shipping. And I have to pay storage fees later because of their rules.
Update: they asked me 33 Euros storage fees.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I ordered a package from China and DHL kept it for several days in "clearance event", even after I sent them all the documents required.
Also, the estimated shipping day changed to an "unavailable", and the customer service doesn't want to give me any information about it.
(note that I paid an extra just to have the fast shipping)
UPDATE: I got the package 1 week after the estimated date, but two months after getting my package I got a letter saying I had to pay 43 euro taxes since it came from outside EU. The whole package was around 100 euro. Completely crazy. NEVER AGAIN DHL, unfortunately from the website I ordered I didn't really have any other choices.

Follow-up review 14 October 2021
On 16th August we sent a gift parcel via DHL from South Africa to our children in Vienna, Austria. After experiencing many challenges regarding exorbitant costs, fees and duties which our kids had to pay before they could take receipt of their gift, we lodged an appeal. After numerous email exchanges, the matter was finally resolved with a comprehensive refund of the amount which DHL paid into their account. Thanks. Appreciated.
We encourage future users of DHL, before sending a parcel via DHL, to ascertain exactly what the final costs, duties and fees of the country of destination will be. Furthermore, make sure whether you should designate the parcel as a gift or as something else and also how each item in the package must be described on the Proforma invoice, and how prices must be declared, particularly second hand items or items of sentimental value (items without proof of purchase). Also make sure about the maximum permitted value of the content, the weight and the dimensions of the parcel to avoid excess costs and fees.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I got the package 9 days after the estimated date, I got a invoice bill and saying I had to pay 91 euro's taxes since it came from outside EU. The whole package was around 25 dollors worth and Completely crazy. NEVER AGAIN DHL, They are looting and never process your parcel to custom clearince early Dhl are suckss, Never recommended to anyone.
