The friendliness of Australia in the Austrian "bush"! Such a lovely, accommodating hostess! I attended a writers' retreat here. The setting was perfect and yet the town was only a 15-minute walk away, so we were easily able to enjoy the gondola up the mountain and some of the delightful Tyrolean cuisine. Hiking and mountain biking is also right there, or just taking walks in the hills.

Gorgeous hostel, with large, comfortable rooms and lots of amenities. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and they made our stay an absolute pleasure. The location also couldn't be better, with some beautiful scenery and lots of things to do in the area.

The hostel is amazingly clean, well constructed, with a strong set of amenities. You're within walking distance to so many activities like the berglift, lakes, etc. Trisha and her team go above and beyond and will make your stay exceptional. We brought a group of fourteen down and everyone was raving about the entire stay!

Amazing hostel. So clean and fresh. The staff were so accommodating and helpful, really friendly. Great location, right in the mountains and great facilities, like books, games and yoga mats. The breakfast was filling. I will definitely be staying here again next time I am in Austria

We stayed in this hostel with a group of 16 friends (age +/- 45 years old) for a short-ski trip. Nice hostel, excellent service, bus shuttle to the skilift, nice breakfast, good food, rooms very clean.

Staff were fantastic - really friendly and couldn't do enough to help. They made a real effort to make a sociable and inclusive atmosphere. It didn't quite feel like a normal Contiki trip - there was still some disruption and rules in place from COVID, but the staff had clearly tried their best. The place itself was lovely, really nicely presented and spotlessly clean. It also felt very well organised - ski bus every morning to the slopes and super cheap (think it was $2 for your whole trip) ski lockers literally right next the gondola for your boots and skis. The slope itself (SkiWelt) is an absolute top resort, it might not compete with the very best in Europe such as Val d'Isere or St Moritz, but it really is in the next bracket down (consider it a top resort without mybe being world famous, celebrity level etc). Its not cheap as such - but for what you get in Austria (again at a top resort) its 100% value for money. Would say slightly limited Apres ski - the bars and Gasthofs on the slopes are simply stunning, very fairly priced for a ski resort, a few bars in Hopfgarten itself (15 mins walk away from the Hostel). They do dinners nearly every night and seat you together, very sociable, and the hostel has a bar that's usually got plenty going on, and a cool lounge, I would say the hostel itself is pretty much the only real nightlife (but its pretty decent). Had a fantastic time and really can't thank the staff enough - Laura and Trisha especially were fantastic, so well organised and on the ball. Thanks again guys!

This is a wonderful hostel with great access to the nearby skiing areas. The hostel has a convenient shuttle service to and from Hopfgarten and there's a local bus you can take from there if you need to go anywhere else (or you can take the ski routes!). It’s also a very easy walk to and from Hopfgarten if you need anything outside of shuttle hours. The hostel is very modern and clean with an excellent lounge, bar, and breakfast service. My room was very comfortable and I slept so well in the bed. The breakfasts are very filling and healthy and are offered early enough to allow you to be on the first lifts of the day. I didn't take part in the dinner service so I can't comment on that, but I'm sure it's wonderful based on the dedication of the staff that work here. Everyone who works here is exceptionally kind and welcoming and they'll go out of their way to make you feel at home. I would definitely stay here again in the future
