★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Church and fortress combined: this makes St. Oswald in Eisenerz a worthy target for a visit. Do not be afraid of the 160 steps leading up to it. Take the time to stroll around in the yard surrounded by the walls, which permit picturesque views of the city below. The northern entrance has a tympanum showing Adam as a miner being driven from Paradise. The most remarkable interior is the gothic gallery with a richly decorated parapet.
