As a Chinese, i would say this pavilion is not so typical as a Chinese pavilion. Especially the round wood window and the outside part used as dropping rains or waters. The introduction doesn't say much of the construction history. I would guess maybe this was built by native people. But i am happy it mentions Chinese not Japanese nor Korean pavilion like other places did. I like the place and position here. Really nice view. Worth to climb 260 steps and other walks.

Pretty basic as Chinese pavilions go.but the view is awesome and it provides a great place to sit and get out of the sun, if it's hot. When I is it true that was freezing. From here you can also get a fantastic photo of the modern Art museum.

A relatively simple structure but the location allows great views over Graz. The Chinese pavilion was built around 1890 as a replacement for older romantic vine arbour. The stone bench with the letters and Gothic blind is a relic from the late Gothic period of the fortress and is called the ”Bishops Throne”. Legend has it that Bishop Count Nadasty died here in 1796 while resting after being released from 40 years of imprisonment in the Schlossberg dungeon!
