Castle Saalhof

Place is nice. No big complaints except that wifi was not available in the room and the sofa bed is not worth sleeping on.

Great place to be. The host is super. Clean. And the best thing is the Milk.

We had a great time! We recomend Schloss Saalhof for families with children (fresh eco food, animals, play ground and a lot of space for fun!) and for the others for relax (relaxation room, sauna, great view)! Kasia i Pawel Pietron.

2 night stay in July, and I must say it was a beautiful and friendly in fact we cant wait to book again for a longer stay, with fresh milk eggs and bread, as well as homemade jam and snaps which we took delight in trying, I would recommend this place to families and couples. thank you Schloss Saalhof

Very nice and cosy place with a lot of charm. The castle atmosphere makes you feel special - it is something you have to experience ?. Apart from that Kathrin is a very friendly person and after the warm welcome and a home made spirit that she offers you upon arrival you will feel like at home. We really enjoyed our stay.

My family of five had a wonderful stay here during a week. Our room contained kitchen, dining table, two doublebeds, closet and a very nice bathroom. The room had everything you need including a great castle-like atmosphere with wooden wooden ceiling, panels and floor. Every morning the hosts prepared a full breakfast for us and along the week they prepared several activities like hiking and horseback riding and barbeque. As a farm they have cows delivering fresh milk, some goats and chickens laying eggs which my youngest helped finding when grandma needed some help. All in all the stay was very pleasant and we always felt very welcome and perhaps even almost part of the family.

We had our whole family, 18 of us, on a trip that took us to Schloss Saalhof. We had the entire chalet due to the size of our group. The hosts were wonderful. The children got to go with them to get eggs each morning. They also had cows as well. The riding toys they had for children were the best I had ever seen and the children in our group had a great time shoveling their piles of gravel as well. We bought some of their products made at the farm and they were fabulous. Fresh breads we also enjoyed. If we are lucky enough to come back to this area, we will definitely stay at Schloss Saalhof again. It was wonderful.

Wow. We stayed in the Schwalbennest, as a family of four (10 & 4yo) it was perfect size. Fresh bread each morning and fresh milk straight from the cows as well! The property has many things for kids to play with on your downtime (tree fort, bikes, carts, ping pong, swings, etc). As well, our kids gathered fresh eggs each morning, helped feed the animals, milk the cows, etc). Such a bonus when traveling with kids to have these things available where you are staying. We also enjoyed using the sauna facalities onsite. The apartment may have been the cleanest place we have ever rented. The host was great and easy to communicate with via whatsapp for any questions or concerns. The apartment had a dishwasher, toaster, several coffee makers and a soda water maker. Also any utensils you would need for basic cooking. Handful of local restaurants within 2 - 5 min walk (take away offered as well), bike and ski rental 2 min walk, bike path to lake right there... The area is unbelievably scenic and has an abundance of outdoor activities, many geared specifically towards families and children. We hated leaving, had an amazing visit and were nothing short of impressed with Schloss Saalhof and our stay in the Schwalbennest. FYI: Many area attractions are cash only - be sure to check ahead and/or be able to access Euro's. Supermarkets are closed on Sunday's (actually everything except restaurants are closed on Sunday). Restaurants will be closed on either a Monday or Tuesday.
