Cozy, authentic Viennese cafe perfect for breakfast, some coffee and cake in the afternoon or a beer at night. Prices have become a bit high (4.1 EUR for a beer) but it's still OK for the occasional drink.

This is a traditional and charming Vienna Café . I quit like it there, though I do admit that it might not be for everyone. You can smoke there, the coffee is traditionally not very good and a far cry from the artisianal Cafés, but unpretensious. The people who go there are a fascinating bunch. You'll get all sorts of different folks like students, pensioners, civil servants, business people and artists (or at least they think they are). It might be due to the large public library closeby and the quit annoying shopping mall opposite that so many different people find their way to the Weidinger. I always enjoy the shabby chic.

Traditional viennese coffeehouse with a variety of different cultural events such as concerts and book presentations happening throughout the week.certainly worth a visit, but limited variety oft dishes(their Gulyas is excellent though). Generally speaking: coffee during the day, beer at night. They have a beautiful quiet garden open during summer, and a bowling alley in the cellar.good place to bring a book and just relax for a few hours.

THE WORST PLACE!!! I asked THE waiter if may I come in with the dog. He said yes. And after he brought the menu he started to behave really bad, like he was angry at me. I couldn’t stand that so I asked AGAIN if there is a problem with me or the dog. He started to talk to other people in the restaurant and complaining. And then he disappeared. I was never treated like this. The guests were puzzled, the situation wasn’t comfortable for any of us there. I had to walk out. Maybe the restaurant should make a sign on the door that the service is rude and unprofessional . I wouldn’t walk in if I knew that.

Excellent... The last REAL old fashioned Viennese Kaffeehaus, where people play Karambol (Viennese billards) and chess. In the basement, there is even a Kegelbahn (the Austrian version of a bowling alley). Good service and moderate prices. Super nice garden with old trees. If somebody wants to experience, what true Viennese Kaffeehaus-culture means: this is the perfect place.

Moved us into another room and made us each pay 60c just cuz we were playing chess (with our own boards). Not so chill.

Café Weidinger too is a real Viennese institution. An absolute must-see, cozy, old-style, popular, shabby Viennese coffee house, with the obligatory misanthropic waiters. All in all, a real time machine! The relaxed atmosphere lends itself to hours of conversation and reading. If you’re in the mood for games, they have Carom billiards tables and a Viennese-style bowling alley. Literary readings are common here, and you may even recognize the interior from Jem Cohen’s movie Museum Hours. Café Weidinger is WORTH EVERY DETOUR!

Dive in to the past! Amazing, vintage, spacious Viennese cafe with simple breakfast food and beverages. Old and stylish interior, newspapers on holds etc. make this place very special. The only ‘but’ - the receipt was a little confusing. In total, wonderful breakfast experience :)
