We wanted to visit something where local people go. This cafe is perfect. Authentic coffee and strudel. Also has full bar. Modest price. We are glad we found it.

The most important and interesting café in Wien: the mixture of huge classic and intimate retro cafés. In the middle of the town with the good old guys behind the bar. 2 karambol-tables, good classic foods and drinks, cakes. My main place in this town.

Nice if you want a quiet drink in a very homely place, but little effort has been made on the interior. Waiter was perfectly nice

Perfect location for a photo shoot, because it's a real scary place straight out of Vienna's depressing 50's and 60's. A quite large space for a café with a terribly authentic shabby look. The espresso might be a serious contender for the worst ever! On the downside, it has also kept its typical sloppy attitude towards cleanliness.

Literally the worst restaurant experience of my life - however, I’m quite happy about it, since we have been able to laugh about the memory several times afterwards. After we arrived, we waited maybe 15 min without anyone noticing. Then we asked for a menu, but was denied. The man we asked, said we should wait for the waiter. After 15 min more he gave us the menus. It took forever to get the food, which was surprising since the place was far from full, and we only ordered tomato soup and some fried mushrooms. The beer was tasteless, small and watery, still expensive. Food... when it finally showed up (1,5 h after we came to the place) we couldn’t believe our eyes. The tomato soup was merely tasteless and cold, while the mushroom-dish tilted more towards being unbeatable. Sadness on a plate. My husband actually threw up afterwards. Then it was impossible to pay. The waiter was so slow, I thought we were gonna miss our train. All together, it took us 2,5 h to order, get food, eat and pay. Frankly, I think someone should help these men out of their misery. They must retire. It’s not their fault, but they look like they have worked in this place since before the First World War. They deserve to rest!!! I can understand how the atmosphere can be worth a visit. Actually, I loved the classical room with the old decoration - would be a lovely location for a movie! Maybe, the trick is to just order coffee + have a lot of time. But don’t order food. It was disgusting.

Absolutely loved it. Warm, cosy, a total blast from the past... So if true vintage is your thing, you'll love it. Decent bit of strudel too

If you want to relive the old Vienna and its romantic coffee/restaurant places, this is a place to be. Still remains unchanged, un renovated with all original furniture untouched. You can enjoy coffee, wiener schnitzel (rather nicely done), or simply a glass of local wine. A special touch is the waiter who is on par with the interior.

The coffee shop is pretty local, with vintage pool table and board games. The man in the shop is friendly and recommended to us the traditional dessert. The food looks simple but taste amazing. If you want to find some restaurant truly local and traditional Vienna style, don’t miss this one!
