★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Zu dieser Burg gibt es leider keine urkundlichen Belege über Erbauung bzw. Entstehung. In der Literatur wird sie zumeist gemeinsam mit der Burg Schmerbach erwähnt und es wird vermutet, dass Schwarzenöd gleichzeitig mit Schmerbach um 1230 zerstört und aufgegeben wurde.
Die Burgruine befindet sich versteckt im Wald, auf einem schmalen Felssporn hoch oberhalb des Kamp. Von der ehemaligen Burg sind heute noch eine Anzahl von Umfassungsmauern und Reste von Gebäuden mit rundbogigen Fenstern und Türen erhalten.
Die Besichtigung stellt einen lohnenden Ausflug mit Kurzwanderung in der naturbelassenen Landschaft des Waldviertels dar.
 Unfortunately, there is no documentary evidence of the construction or origin of this castle. In the literature it is mostly mentioned together with the Schmerbach Castle and it is assumed that Schwarzenöd was destroyed and abandoned at the same time as Schmerbach around 1230.
The castle ruins are hidden in the forest, on a narrow rock spur high above the Kamp. From the former castle, a number of enclosing walls and remains of buildings with arched windows and doors are still preserved.
The visit is a worthwhile excursion with a short hike in the natural landscape of the Waldviertel.
