Ihr Name steht im Zusammenhang mit dem einst hier lebhaft betriebenen Bergbau. Goldenstein wurde urkundlich erstmals 1359 erwähnt, dürfte aber vermutlich schon früher bestanden haben. Sie wurde mehrmals zerstört und wieder aufgebaut und erlebte ihren Höhepunkt nach den Raubzügen der Türken am Ende des 15.Jahrhunderts. Zu Beginn des 16. Jahrhunderts dürfte die Burg bereits im Zustand des Verfalls gewesen sein. Die noch vorhanden Reste der Ruine in exponierter Lage hoch auf dem Felsen üben einen besonderen Reiz und Faszination auf den Besucher aus und sind ein wirklich lohnendes Ziel für eine Besichtigung. The remains of the former castle of Goldenstein can be found on steeply rising rocks. Her name is related to the once lively mining industry. Goldenstein was first mentioned in documents in 1359, but probably should have existed earlier. It was destroyed and rebuilt several times, culminating in the raids of the Turks at the end of the 15th century. At the beginning of the 16th century, the castle was probably already in a state of decline. The remaining remains of the ruin in an exposed position high on the rock exert a special charm and fascination on the visitor and are a really worthwhile destination for a visit.
J	Judith G. on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wunderschöner, ruhiger und wohl nicht oft begangener Wanderweg zur Ruine Goldenstein! Manchmal etwas steil aber dennoch gut zu gehen! Wunderschöner Blick von der Ruine ins Tal! Beautiful, quiet and probably not often used hiking trail to the Goldenstein ruins! Sometimes a bit steep but still easy to walk! Wonderful view from the ruins into the valley!
