★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Leider ist die Burgruine und der Berg auf der sie steht gerade wegen Steinschlag gesperrt. Die Restaurierung wird - laut Auskunft Einheimischer - noch mindestens 1 Jahr dauern.
Das Restaurant am Fuß der Burg ist aber absolut ein Ausflug wert. Sehr leckeres Essen, schöne, großzügige Terrasse, nettes Personal.
Unfortunately, the castle ruins and the mountain on which it stands are currently closed due to falling rocks. According to information from local residents, the restoration will take at least another year.
The restaurant at the foot of the castle is definitely worth a visit. Very tasty food, beautiful, spacious terrace, nice staff.

Si trova proprio in cima ad un rialzo, a più di 1000 metri di altezza, ben visibile anche da lontano.
Costruito dagli Starkenberg nel 1360, dopo la confisca dei beni dell'antico casato, a seguito di una rivolta, ha cambiato diverse volte il proprietario.
È stato abbandonato nel XVIII secolo.
Ora, è di proprietà ecclesiastica.
Sono rimasti i resti del palazzo principale, proprio in cima alla montagna, una porta fortificata e resti di mura più in basso, lungo il percorso che porta alla vetta.
Si raggiunge dal paesino sottostante, in circa 30/40 minuti di cammino con alcuni tratti in forte pendenza.
Normalmente, è visitabile liberamente, ma attualmente, il sentiero che lo raggiunge, è chiuso a causa di una frana.

It is located right on top of a rise, more than 1000 meters high, clearly visible even from a distance.
Built by the Starkenbergs in 1360, after the confiscation of the assets of the old family, following a revolt, it has changed the owner several times.
It was abandoned in the 18th century.
Now, it is ecclesiastical property.
The remains of the main palace remain, right at the top of the mountain, a fortified gate and remains of walls further down, along the path leading to the summit.
It can be reached from the village below, in about 30/40 minutes on foot with some steeply sloping sections.
Normally, it can be visited freely, but currently, the path that reaches it is closed due to a landslide.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Magical place but incredibly hard to get to! Be prepared to duck under the grave warning signs and scramble up the slipper rocks to the summit. Very dangerous ascent.
