Fireplace Purchased in your Store by Radius Design EXPLODED in our Apartment (Pictures Attached) Yesterday evening while relaxing with my husband next to our well-mounted Radius Design fireplace which I purchased from Blaulicht a few years ago, we were both surprised when the plate glass on back of the fireplace suddenly exploded and showed us both with glass. Fortunately, I was able to extinguish the flames with some baking powder I had close by so our building was not burned to the ground. I was cut in a few places but no-one was seriously injured. Despite having a messy clean-up, I consider us both lucky to still have our eyesight intact! Needless to say, I am in shock this could happen. When my husband visited the shop and showed them the photos of the incident (included below), he was absolutely appalled by their responses. A few highlights: - "I have one at home and it works just fine." (His response: This isn't a wine glass which broke in the dishwasher. It's a DANGEROUS FIRE HAZARD and it EXPLODED next to my wife's head and almost burned down my building!!!) -- "Sorry, we only offer a 2 year guarantee." (His response: You can't be serious! If this thing explodes and kills someone after 24 months, no liability???!!) In summary, UTTER IGNORANCE, INCOMPETENCE, AND APATHY. I have already contacted "Europakonsument" here in Vienna to explore legal options. In the meanwhile, I HIGHLY discourage anyone from buying anything from this store. They couldn't care less about consumer experience, even if your home burns to the ground!
